Alberto Tarsitano was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on July 27, 1955.

He graduated from Secondary School at Colegio Nacional No. 2 “Domingo Faustino Sarmiento”.  He obtained a J.D. degree from University of Buenos Aires School of Law [Universidad de Buenos Aires] in 1978 and in 1984 he obtained a post graduate degree as "Lawyer specialized in Tax Law".

He started his professional career at the Argentine Tax Court [Tribunal Fiscal de la Nación] where he held several positions until he was appointed to the General Clerkship in 1985. The following year he joined the law firm Dabinovic & Asociados where he became partner in 1988. In 1991 after successive mergers of the law firm with Cárdenas & Asociados and Cassagne & Asociados he became a founding partner of Cárdenas & Cassagne.  In 2004 he became a founding partner of Cárdenas, Di Ció Romero & Tarsitano, and is currently head of the Tax Department, composed of ten lawyers and three certified public accountants.

In his twenty years as partner he practiced in different areas of tax law: tax litigation, tax planning, tax counseling and tax criminal law.

In 2012, as a result of the merger between Bulit Goñi Abogados and Tarsitano & Asociados, incorporates Bulit Goñi & Tarsitano, Abogados y Consultores, a law firm aimed to provide a comprehensive service in tax and criminal matters.

His clients include multinational companies engaged in industrial activities (British American Tobacco, Bridgstone/Firestone, Arcelor S.A., Fiat Auto), public utilities (Bell South, Telefónica, British Gas, Aguas de Barcelona and Lyonnaise des Eaux) oil, gas and electricity (Chevron Argentina S.A., YPF Repsol, Enap Sipetrol, British Gas, Endesa), commercial activities (Coca Cola Femsa) and banks (J.P.Morgan, Chase Bank N.A., Chase Manhattan Bank, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, BBVA Banco Francés, HSBC), as well as leading domestic groups (Supervielle, Cepas Argentinas S.A., Sadesa S.A., Cartellone, Edenor S.A.) and individuals.

As to his academic record, he has taught law in several public and private universities, the most significant ones being listed hereinbelow.

He is Professor at the School of Law of UBA since 1981.  In 1994 he was appointed adjunct professor by a public contest of records. In 2008 in the tenure ratification public contest he was distinguished obtaining the first rank in order of merits.

He is Chair Professor of Tax Law at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), where he teaches since 1986.  In 2004 he founded and is currently Director of the LLM in Tax Law. At UCA, he chairs the editorial board of the Tax Supplement [Suplemento Fiscal] of the law journal “El Derecho”, which he founded in 2002.
